The Dassault Falcon 900EX is the extended-range version of the Falcon 900 family. Compared with the earlier 900B it has three Honeywell TFE731-60 engines, an extra fuel tank in the rear fuselage and higher take-off weights. Dassault gives 8,334 km with NBAA IFR reserves. The cabin is 10.11 m long, 1.88 m high and 2.34 m wide, usually with 12 to 14 seats in three zones, an enclosed toilet at the rear and a 3.6 m³ hold that passengers can reach during the flight.
For a group of eight to twelve bound for the Gulf, the Canaries or a long day of meetings in another capital, the Falcon 900EX makes sense. For four people on a one-hour hop to Geneva, a super midsize jet does the same trip for less.

The layout most often seen in charter:
At 1.88 m to the ceiling and 2.34 m across, most adults walk upright through the Falcon 900EX from the galley to the rear. The cross-section is the same as in the Falcon 2000LX and 7X. The galley sits by the entry door, and some aircraft have a second, smaller toilet there, usually used by the crew, while passengers have the main toilet with a door and washbasin at the back.
| Cabin | |
|---|---|
| Cabin height | 1.88 m |
| Cabin width | 2.34 m |
| Cabin length | 10.11 m, without cockpit and hold |
| Seats | usually 12 to 14 in three zones, 19 certified |
| Sleeping places | sofa and seat pairs in the aft zone, depends on the layout |
| Toilets | enclosed at the rear, a second one forward in some aircraft |
| Galley | by the entry door |
| Baggage access in flight | yes, heated hold behind the toilet |
| Wi-Fi | depends on the aircraft |

The Falcon 900EX hold is heated and opens into the cabin, so a coat or a laptop bag can be fetched at any altitude. Six to eight passengers fit large suitcases, skis in covers and golf bags. With a full cabin, plan on one large suitcase and a cabin bag each.
The 8,334 km Dassault gives for the Falcon 900EX apply to economy cruise and NBAA IFR reserves. Westbound over the Atlantic headwinds usually prevail, so a non-stop flight to New York or Toronto is planned for a smaller group, and the operator confirms it after checking the forecast. Eastbound and southbound, range is rarely the limit for the Falcon 900EX.
Two cockpit versions fly as the Falcon 900EX, with the same cabin:
What this means at European airports:
In New York the Falcon 900EX lands at Teterboro, the business airport closest to Manhattan, as its weight is well inside the airport's limit.

The table runs Falcon 900EX flights from one-hour hops such as Paris to Nice to the Gulf, the Maldives and North America. Prices are one way for the whole aircraft with crew, without airport fees and passenger taxes. Flight time is the great-circle distance plus taxi, climb and approach, without wind.

Mykonos gives private aircraft only about 40 minutes on the ground in summer, so the jet drops its passengers and parks at another airport.
Enter departure, destination and the number of passengers, and the calculator shows an indicative price for this jet and for other large jets on your route.
The indicative rate starts at EUR 9,800 per flight hour for the whole aircraft with two pilots and fuel, with four or fourteen people on board. On short legs the total is well above rate times flight time: London Farnborough to Geneva takes 1:23 h and starts at EUR 23,000, Paris Le Bourget to Nice (1:19 h) at EUR 22,000. The quote also carries the operator's minimum charge and the flights to and from the aircraft's base, which weigh heavily on a short trip.
From two or three hours the price comes closer to the hourly rate: Munich to Santorini (2:33 h) starts at EUR 34,000 and London to Tenerife (3:55 h) at EUR 48,000. On the longest legs operators also count the long duty day and a return they may fly empty, so London to New York (7:00 h) starts at EUR 74,000 and Zurich to Dubai (6:07 h) at EUR 66,000.
The price is for the whole aircraft, so the share per person falls as the cabin fills, here on London Farnborough - Geneva:
Many Falcon 900 aircraft fly with European operators, so Empty Legs on the Falcon 900EX come up fairly often: one-way returns from North America or the Gulf, repositioning between London, Geneva and the Riviera, and flights home from the islands after summer weekends. Such a leg can cost 40-65 % less than a full charter, as examples and not a promise.
Send your route and date window to empty-legs@jets.flights or through the Empty Legs page, and we tell you when a suitable leg appears.
Clients usually weigh the Falcon 900EX against the other members of the family and against a twin-engine jet with the same cabin cross-section.
For a Falcon 900EX quote we need:
We check free Falcon 900EX aircraft with AOC holders and quote the price with positioning included. Within Schengen there is no passport control, but the operator still needs each passenger's passport or ID, and EU citizens flying to the UK need an ETA. If an operator cancels, we always try to find another aircraft or protect your payment, but each case depends on the operator's contract.
From EUR 9,800 per flight hour. In the table London Farnborough to Nice starts at EUR 26,000, Milan to Tenerife at EUR 49,000 and Paris to New York at EUR 77,000, for the whole aircraft one way. Airport fees and passenger taxes are added.
The table price covers the aircraft, two pilots, fuel and positioning. Airport and handling fees, the departure country's passenger taxes, catering, a flight attendant if charged separately, winter de-icing and crew costs on a multi-day trip are listed in the quote.
Fly out and back on the same day, keep the departure time flexible, accept another Falcon 900 version with the same cabin and ask about Empty Legs. For a small group on a short leg, compare a smaller jet.
Yes, fairly often, as many European operators fly the family. One-way legs home from North America and the Gulf are the most common and can be 40-65 % cheaper. Date and route are fixed, and the leg can be withdrawn.
With a smaller group and normal winds, yes: 5,530 km and about 7:00 h to Teterboro. With a full cabin, heavy bags and strong winter headwinds the operator adds a fuel stop in Ireland or Iceland.
A typical Falcon 900EX has 12 to 14 seats in three zones, with 19 certified. For a night flight over the Atlantic, six to eight is the right number, so several can sleep and the weight allows the trip without a stop.
Yes, the Falcon 900EX has a separate room at the rear with a door and washbasin. Some aircraft have a second, smaller toilet near the entrance.
Cabin and performance are the same. The Falcon 900EX EASy has a newer cockpit with large screens and approval for steep approaches, which London City and Lugano require. Older aircraft with Primus instruments normally do not land there.
Yes, with six to eight people the 3.6 m³ hold takes skis in covers and golf bags. With a full cabin, give the number and size of the items and the operator checks before booking.
Usually yes, in the cabin next to you, once the operator has agreed. Within the EU it needs a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days before travel and an EU pet passport. Finland, Ireland, Malta, Norway and the UK also require tapeworm treatment 1-5 days before entry, and the USA and Canada have their own rules, which we check before booking.
